Quarter Century

I turned 25 on Wednesday and I was not prepared for the total depression of it. I love my birthday, LOVE MY BIRTHDAY! And even when I had finals/work/no one was around, I still partied like a badass.

Not this time. I woke up at 5am, went to work, came home around 7pm, ate dinner by myself, played some WOW, and went to bed. *sigh*

And in no way is this anyone's fault but my own. I received a squillion (heh, Jordan) Facebook/myspace posts, emails, phone calls, and texts and truly feel loved by my friends and family. Mary the other receptionist even bought me the most delicious cupcakes EVER! And Brad bought me a sweet cheesecake, mousse, chocolate cake yummy thing.

I just thought I'd be a little further in life by my 25th birthday. And I know the economy is shit and that most people don't figure out there lives right after college but I really thought I knew what I wanted. I wanted to work in advertising so I got a job in advertising. After a couple of months I realized I wanted to be a commercial producer so I took the necessary steps to get there (well, the steps I was TOLD would get me there). While working as a Traffic Manager I realized people had been giving me the run around and I was tired of waiting for my life to start (I also HATED my job) so I quit and moved back home. Probably a bad move on my part since it was around the time the economy really started its downslide. 5 months of unemployment is quite humbling (and expensive) but I managed to snag a freelance position through a friend. I now work as a receptionist (until the end of February) at the best (seriously, google it) ad agency in the country! I love it here and I'm really hoping they hire me on in March (preferably in something other than recepting). But I'm still stuck in an entry level position.

However, I woke up this morning and decided 25 was going to be MY year. 24 had its awesome moments but it also kind of blew. But 25 is going to be different! I already have many exciting things planned like two of my best friend's WEDDINGS (hooray) and some traveling but I'm also looking forward to some BIG changes that I'll talk about in later posts :) So I guess its woooo 25! 25 IS my lucky number so the outlook is good.
