Shameless Nerdage

I started a video game blog in response to a challenge from my awesome friend Kevin. It was something along the lines of he was tired of me complaining about not knowing how to get the job I want:

"Make a video game blog by the end of the week and prove me wrong."

So I did. I won't link to it because it's dead now. The problem with a blog like that is you actually need to be playing the games you're talking about . . . and time to play them. I don't have an xbox 360 or a wii (not enough $$). And I recently (2 months ago) quit World of Warcraft (CRY!) because it was becoming about as dramatic and annoying as real life. And I could never make our raid times (waaah!). Regardless! I love Love LOVE video games. If I could just hang out and play them for hours I would.

I WILL link you to Fidgit, a video game blog through The Sci-Fi (SyFy my ass) channel. The guy who writes it, Tom Chick, talks about video games in such a basic "Hey, look how cool/lame this is and why you should/shouldn't buy it" way. He doesn't pretend to be an expert on anything, just a lover of video games like moi. Fidgit has such a chill, chatting about video games with your fellow video game lovers who also like to enjoy real life. He also has a great sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously.

Honestly, he has me checking out games/systems I would NEVER have even glanced at . . . THE PATH . . . Patapon for PSP . . . and of course, Plants Vs. Zombies. Yes, he linked to the Zombatar creator. Tom Chick is THE SHIT. Oh and that video is a music video created to promote the game. Tom Chick linked to that too.


You might also know Tom as the guy who played Oscar's lover on The Office. Apparently he was also on the West Wing . . . but I never watched that. For those of you who love video games even more than I do he runs a discussion site as well: Quarter to Three.
