No, just no.

W. T. F????

Really SciFi? You think renaming your channel "SyFy" will do away with its "geeky" image? For shame! "SyFy" looks like it belongs on the Periodic Table of Elements and not THIS one. Plus, I loved SciFi BECAUSE it was geeky. Where else could I unashamedly watch Reign of Fire? I loved their whole "If" campaign. I think it completely captured what "SciFi" means. So what if you couldn't trademark the term "SciFi", did anyone actually wonder what their friend meant when they said they were watching SciFi all weekend? No. And to be honest, I don't think "Imagine Greater" makes me actually want to imagine, greater.

I understand wanting to "broaden" the audience into fantasy genres. You do realize that all the people watching SciFi are the same people who enjoy the fantasy genre right? You won't be increasing your viewership because all of those people ALREADY WATCH SCIFI!!! You want to venture into fantasy-related shows, go right ahead. I won't mind. That will actually be pretty cool! And the fact that your name doesn't reflect the "fantasy" won't bother me at all. Because I watch SciFi for the SCIence FIction and anything fantasy-related is just a cherry on top :)

According to your school of thought TLC should have changed their name LONG ago to "Shows about other people's lives that don't actually teach you anything." Or maybe something shorter. You also don't see MTV changing its name anytime soon and they haven't shown a music video in 5 years!
